BIOGRAPHY


Kim Makonnen received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology in 2004 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green Ohio.  She received her master’s degree in Human Service Counseling with a specialization in Addictions and Recovery from Liberty University in Lynchburg Virginia.  Kim is a native of Cincinnati Ohio, and currently lives in Virginia.  She has a plethora of experience working with all populations along with working in several settings such as residential, inpatient, drug court and outpatient services.

Kim has been a licensed substance abuse counselor since 2007 and now she is a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Virginia.  Kim believes in the philosophy of treating the whole person, meaning that a person’s spiritual, emotional, physical, and social well-being is important for a successful recovery.  Kim is a strong advocate for respecting her clients and providing them with the best treatment or counseling that fits their specific needs.
